The Need to Change

And no it's not really about stinky underpants, but about the need to change how you do business as a photographer. Todd really is a great smelling guy.

He won these coveted underwear at the DWF Convention we attended earlier in January. Well, Jeff and Julia Woods, the givers of the underpants, had a "Zoolander" type walk off during their presentation, and Todd did a backflip to beat the other contestants of that particular walk off and win the prize!

Jeff and Julia requested that all of the prize winners take a photo with their underpants in some form or fashion, so here is our contribution.

Hobnobbing with the Pros

Last night we were fortunate to to hear Jack Reznicki speak in front of the Orlando Camera Club. Jack has been a professional commercial photographer for over 20 years and has a portfolio to prove it. We really enjoyed hearing him speak about his experiences and travels around the world as well.

If you are a camera enthusiast, and would love to meet other people who are the same, we'd highly recommend the Orlando Camera Club. People of all skill types get together for regular meetings and competitions. Topics of discussion range from software to documentary photography and business skills.

It's been a busy week, and we're looking forward to some fun and relaxation this weekend. Todd's good friend is coming to visit us, and we plan to smoke some ribs for him. This will be round two of rib smoking, and we hope to perfect it this time! My brother mentioned a recipe called 3-2-1 ribs, which is supposed to make the best most tenderest (I know that's not a word) ribs.

Creative Lee Speaking

My husband and I have been big followers of Lee Silber, an inspirational motivator for the creative set. One article in particular, in his newsletter, was life changing for me. It allowed me to make a decision that would change my life for the better.

If you haven't been to his site, or read his articles yet, I highly recommend him. He's a fantastic guy with a big heart, and a huge help to all of those creative thinkers, who sometimes need help with organizing their lives and businesses.

Kids Are So Darn Cute!

I love working with kids, because they can be so silly and so serious at the same time. You better eat your Wheaties for breakfast, so that you have the energy to chase them, but the images you capture, are fantastic and worth the running. Here's a couple of my favs from a shoot last month, that I just had to post.

They're Always Around to Practice With...

And well, since they're our pets, we figured they should be on our Web site too! It's always good to catch them, when they're feeling a little lazy. Pandora, the black cat, is especially energetic, so we feel pretty lucky to capture good images of her. Pinky we call the Brad Pitt of cats. He's a good looking cat, but a little slow in the brain department. ;)

Modeling Makeup

So I promised we would post some more images from the makeup shoot, and here they are. Amy is so talented with her makeup, and it really made these images. We had music playing in the background and Todd was making everyone laugh. It was a great time and we got some amazing images out of it.

The Wedding from Hell

While attending the DWF Convention, we were able to partake in a mock wedding where evey possible scenario of problems was explored. For example, one of the "bridesmaids" was extremely drunk and stumbling down the aisle, and proceeded to start smoking during the ceremony. One of the groomsmen had a bottle of vodka, and was passing around shots while the ceremony was in process. The mother of the groom wore the absolutely tackiest dress possible, and the bride was at least 3 feet taller than the groom! Now, this isn't a normal situation, but the "photographers" would approach each scenario, and give suggestions on how to handle it and still make fabulous images. It certainly was a comedy of errors and a good time for us photographers to relate to each other. Thank you to my friend Larz Schwartz of LNL Photography, for allowing me to borrow a couple of his photos from the event.

To All of Our Idols

Wow, it was so great to meet our idols of the Photography world at the DWF Convention. Everyone of you was so energetic and appreciative, and you all were such an inspiration to us. Seeing you successful photographers, gives us the energy to keep pushing forward and not be afraid to go for it!

Fun and Fashion During DWF

While we were attending the DWF Convention in Tampa, my brother and sister-in-law were nice enough to put up with us...I mean put us up in their home. So, we did a photo shoot with Jeannette and her cousin Amy (who is a fabulous makeup artist), and had a great time. Here are some of the sillier images. Tampa Here We Come!

We're off to the Digital Wedding Forum Convention in Tampa Bay. We're so excited to meet some of our photography idols, and be insipired with new ideas. Of course while we're there, we'll be holding more portrait sessions, so come back and visit our blog for new images.

All in the Family

We were fortunate to meet up with our friend DeeDee's family this past Sunday for a photo shoot. What a hoot! They were all so silly and easy going and reminded me of my family. Thanks to DeeDee and the Warden clan for a fun afternoon.

Erica's Birthday!

So my birthday was on January 1st...yes I'm a New Year's baby and I was born in the evening. My family came over the Saturday before to celebrate, and Todd and I broke in the new smoker we received for Christmas. It was a learning experience for sure, but the ribs and chicken were fantastic!
